10. “Midnight in Paris” (2011)
Paris is the city of romance so as depicted by this romantic comedy. There are certain romantic comedies like “Blue Jasmine” and “To Rome with Love” but none of this is swoon-worthy as “Midnight in Paris”. The film follows Gil Pender, a screenwriter who is forced to confront the shortcomings of his relationship with his materialistic fiancée and their divergent goals, which become increasingly exaggerated as he travels back in time each night at midnight. The movie is a great depiction of nostalgia and modernism.
