Technology and Its Impact on Future of Work

Time flies so quickly one can’t even imagine. Current era is changing its dimensions rapidly. For instance, when we were kids, the jobs we thought we will do in the future will be different completely then the ones we would choose if we were kids today. All this happen is due to technology. The big fact is that when technology change happens, our career dimensions also change.

A study was conducted on the work roles of children of present age. The result was shocking that more than 60% of primary school going children will have work roles that are not currently defined. The jobs will start to change rapidly by 2020. It has been expected that certain jobs considering administration and production will decline with the advancements in technology and it has already started to happen.

These jobs transformations are only due to one thing which is technology. This is why the future of technology is bright. Certain fields like artificial intelligence, 3D printing and robotics will change the work dimensions even further in the coming years. These will emphasize greatly on the ways we create, manage and deliver products. The architectural and engineering sections will rise even further and more jobs will be created in these fields. The use of automated production systems will get encouraged.

The question arises, “What the current or future advancement in technology will bring?” Well, according to World Economic Forum, the 44% people are of the opinion that new technology will bring remote working to the world. The teleconferencing is the stimulus to this change.

Just imagine our future work places. As it going currently, in future we will no longer find offices or cabins but an interconnection of different systems working on the same channel. Our working routine will become different. Leveraging big data, like real-time traffic information, could cut journey times, making the school run easier, and the morning commute more manageable.

Technology will also bring “The Fourth Industrial Revolution” by which our economies will become more decentralized. It will bring certain disruptive business models which will provide the stimulus in decentralization. The revenue streams will diversify by technology future. The disruptive business models will completely revolutionized the way we carry out business today. For instance, digitally enabling smallholder farmers can allow them to operate as a collective, transferring knowledge and sharing vital learning with each other from proper crop irrigation technology to water efficiency.

On the other hand, we might be able to see some potential solutions to the societal challenges in future. We will also be able to tackle climate challenges with transformational power of big data. Connected homes, factories and farms leveraging smart energy management systems could mean dramatically lower energy use, which would contribute to the decarbonisation of our economies.

Now the main thing is how we become able to harness our children with the pace of technology changing. If we made it then the outcomes will be great. If we will revolutionize the way we live and work currently, we will surely avoid the vicissitudes of previous industrial revolutions. It means that there will be more economic development in future which we can’t even imagine if we were children. But the thing to be kept in mind is that a race of global digitalization is going on. We have make sure about the ways to cope with it so that our current and future generations will not be left behind.
